Corporate event planning, from first call to event day
One creative director for the timeline, the vendors, and the room. You keep the decisions. You do not manage every delivery.
Corporate event planning with Creative Motion Events is personal on purpose. Fayola Whyte-Manco plans and directs the work herself, so an organization has one point of contact from the first conversation through breakdown. The studio plans for associations, employers, nonprofits, and cultural organizations across Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia. The person who builds the plan is the person who designs the room.
Corporate event design is what the room looks like. Planning is the path from a date on the calendar to that room, with the vendors, the approvals, and the setup window accounted for. Most organizations need both.
The plan starts with a conversation
The first step is unhurried, and it is specific. We talk about the vision, the people who will be in the room, and what the moment is for. A gala that has to make sponsors feel seen is a different plan from an appreciation night that has to make a tired team feel thanked. Then comes a full creative concept and a proposal within five business days. After that, production: vendors, a timeline, install, direction on the day, and breakdown. The step that matters to the host is the last one. You walk in, and the room matches the plan you approved.
You remain involved. You know where the budget is going, and you approve the direction. You should not also be the person answering setup questions while you prepare remarks or cut a ribbon. The journal essay What an Event Director Actually Does is Fayola’s account of that job.
Two plans that should not look alike
A gala with a stage is planned differently from a grand opening in a lobby. For the PMI Washington DC Chapter Awards Gala at JW Marriott Reston in October 2026, the plan had to hold a conference and an awards night in one venue: guest tables, a stage, sponsor recognition, wayfinding, and a setup window. The signage tower thanked sponsors and told people where to go. Guests should not have to guess.
For Able Health Services in Hanover, Maryland, the plan was shorter and more public. Arrival, a ribbon, photographs, and a branded balloon installation that would read clearly in the pictures. The handshake at the ribbon and the reserved cards on the table were both hosting, not extras. The PNC Bank grand opening in Wheaton was planned inside a limited budget and a real timeline. Erika Bazemore, Branch Manager II at PNC Bank in Wheaton, wrote: “Fayola is absolutely amazing. I gave her a limited budget for my corporate event and timeline and she delivered in every way, all while providing an amazing client experience.”
Appreciation nights and a crowded calendar
Year-end dates in the DMV book early. Employers who want an appreciation night people remember usually decide the date, the room, and the feeling ahead of time, then let one partner carry the work through breakdown. If there is a program, plan the sightlines. If the point is conversation, a long table may be the better plan. The notes on employee appreciation and the long table help while that choice is still open.
Teams with a full calendar can plan the year through an Annual Design Partnership: three or more events in twelve months, each scoped on its own. There is no separate annual membership fee, and it is not an unlimited package. The creative director already knows the brand, so the next event does not start from a blank page.
What to send with the inquiry
The useful first note is concrete. Organization, date or season, city, a rough guest count if you know it, and whether the evening is a gala, an opening, an appreciation event, a cultural reception, or something else. If you already have a venue, name it. If you do not, say so. Email hello@creativemotionevents.com or call 301-337-7256. You can also inquire on the contact page. Expect a response within 24 hours.
If you already know the look, start with design. If you know the date and the purpose, start here. Private celebrations have their own door. Organizations in Frederick and the rest of Maryland can also read how the studio works across the DMV. It is the same person on the other end of the note.
Inquiries receive a response within 24 hours.
